Three Lakes

Gia loved being up north at Great-Grandma and Great-Grandpa Fawver's cottage. Even though she couldn't be in the sun because she is still just a cute baby, the outdoors wore her out! We bought this hippo pool for her, but she seemed to think the water was too cold. Grandpa went to fill a bucket with warm water, but by the time he got back, Gianna was dreaming...

On Saturday, we went for a ride on the pontoon boat and played in the water on the sand bar. Gia kicked and cooed in her tent, slept on the seat under the canopy, and enjoyed the fresh air.

Mixed Emotions...

...mostly happy ones though!

Gia is flying!

Thanks Uncle Jimmy and Aunt Trish. Gianna loves her soft puppy!

Gia is hanging out on the back of Daddy's truck.

This is more Mommy's size.

When we were visiting everyone back home, we discovered that there is some kids' music that makes Gia start to cry. I found out today that every song that one of her toys plays makes her sad.

Let's end on a happy note. Gia laughed for the first time today! I have been waiting for this moment. Uh, I love her!

Visit With Dziadzia

Great Grandma and Grandpa May bought this adorable dress for Gia. It says "Little Sunshine" across the bottom. Her cute, little hands are covering the top which has flower petals and a bumblebee. I love it!

Dziadzia came to see Gia this past weekend. For those of you who are wondering, dziadzia is grandpa in Polish, and it is pronounced Jah-jah. We went out for a nice dinner, bought some fresh produce and flowers at the farmer's market, looked at our lot and my new school building, and spent a couple of hours in The Red Giraffe because they are going out of business. It was a great weekend!

The Button Designer & Hubby

On July 28th, Kelsey and Aaron were in town for the unveiling of the Oktoberfest button because Kelsey designed it! We weren't able to really get together, so Gianna and I went to see them at the Logger's stadium for a short visit. Now that they live in Champaign, we miss spending time with them!

Meeting Owen

A few weeks ago already, Gianna and Owen got to meet when I went to visit Ember, Elijah, and Justin. Owen is just a couple of weeks younger than Gia, so it was fun to see them together. When one would cry, the other would start. It was funny! I think they had fun though.

Ouch!

On Tuesday, Gianna had a good morning playing with her toys and spending some time cuddled up in her soft blanky.

The afternoon was not so fun. Gia got her first round of vaccinations at Dr. Thurman's office. Before the shots, she had fun looking at the bright lights with Daddy and getting weighed and measured. Our healthy baby girl weighs 11 pounds 2 ounces, and she is 22.4 inches long. I think the shots made her a little sleepy the rest of the day. She woke up Wednesday morning with a little fever, and I think she was trying to tell me how she felt...

Gianna took a long nap on our way to Aunt Lea and Uncle Casey's Wednesday afternoon. She stayed with Grandpa and Cooper today while Aunt Lea, Uba, and Uncle Casey were at the doctor. Gia is going to be the big cousin of another little boy! Congrats and thanks again for having us!

Goodbye July

Patti and Dave came to watch Gianna on Friday night. Saturday morning, they brought home flowers from the farmer's market. Gia loves looking at them!

Saturday night was bath night.

On Sunday, Gianna clearly wanted to go to Laura's house.

Bennett, Maryn, and Gia had tummy time together.
