Ferguson's with Family

We had a fantastic couple of weekends with family.  First, we had Uncle Jimmy, Aunt Trish, Uba, and Grandpa in town.  On Saturday, Grandpa, Ryan, and I ran the Be Fit 5K (snow flakes were flying as we finished...barely visible, but snow nonetheless).  The whole crew then headed downtown for breakfast, and after that, we drove up Granddad's Bluff to get a view of La Crosse.  On Sunday, Uba and Grandpa joined us for our first trip to Ferguson's for the year.

A couple of weekends later, we had Aunt Lea, Uncle Casey, Cooper, Brecken, and Ruby over.  For three hours on Saturday morning, Gianna chanted, "Cousins, cousins, cousins," while she eagerly awaited the arrival of the boys.  Once they got here, we cheered on the Badgers and went back to Ferguson's for some more fall fun. Before they left on Sunday, we walked around Riverside Park a bit so that Cooper and Brecken could see the Mississippi River.  We had a fun visit!

Thanks Aunty Gina for thinking of Gia when you saw this!

Visit with Dzia Dzia

Dzia Dzia decided to come visit for the day.  With overcast and chilly weather, we decided the Children's Museum was a warmer idea than the apple orchard.  Gianna took Dzia Dzia to all of her favorite spots including Kwik Trip, the shadow room, the rivers and streams, and the wind tunnels.

Thanks for a fun day Dzia Dzia!

Move In Day with JJ's

Every year, Ryan has a crew from Jimmy John's give out samples for UW-L's move in day.

This crew, including the cute, miniature one, handed out nearly 1,000 sub samples in just a couple of hours!

While everyone made sandwiches and filled the cups with goodies, Gianna enjoyed a Pepe (ham and cheese).
A little bit of heaven in every bite.

Trike ride

This is an official milestone. Gianna rode her tricycle to the park today! She took one break to watch a couple of girls ride by and another to tell me about Ape-man on Scooby Doo.

It is important to note the sparkly lips too. She was happy to have her picture taken with lip gloss on. The dog on the way to the park was barking because "maybe he doesn't like my lip gloss."

She's a character!

Racine Zoo

Dzia Dzia was supposed to come visit, but car trouble caused us to plan a day near his house instead.  We started our day by going to the Kenosha Farmer's Market right on Lake Michigan.  The kettle corn, cheese curds, Nutella and strawberry crepes, and fresh squeezed lemonade were all yummy, and Dzia Dzia was happy to find a "Lester" handmade soap!

After the market, we headed to the Racine Zoo.  Gia was excited to see elephants, giraffes, and lions.  Dzia Dzia pointed out the animals that blended into their surroundings and told Gianna about them.  The zoo was only selling tickets for the Giraffe feeding to people who were part of a group.  Gia was so disappointed that she couldn't feed the Giraffe, and a bystander noticed.  She and her family kindly gave us one of their tickets.  They made Miss Gia's day.

Tree Swing

Uba and Grandpa have a great big tree swing that Gia loves.  She is so brave, and I am not a huge fan of that.  Despite my fears, she clearly had fun.
