Easter

With my due date being April 17th, we decided to stay close to home for Easter.

Gia and I decorated Easter eggs with shaving cream and food coloring.

Grandma Dorraine and Cowboy Grandpa sent and Easter basket that Gia opened early.  She got an early Easter surprise from Great Grandma too.

This morning, she came to tell us that there were eggs and a basket in the hallway.  The Easter Bunny left a trail of eggs all the way to a special basket full of goodies including a yoga set for little tykes!

We took a trip to Uba and Grandpa's new cabine to visit with everyone and have lunch.  More surprises awaited this lucky little girl.

On the way to and from the cabin, Gianna played with her new Tag that Dzia Dzia bought her for Easter.  She listened to Under the Sea with Ariel at least a couple of times.

We got home, took a loooong nap, and put away all of the new clothes, toys, and treats.

Happy Easter!

Working with Daddy

Gianna got in uniform to do the rounds with Ryan on Sunday morning. She faced water, checked the chip stocking, and even got to sit in on a meeting between Ryan and Scott, the franchise consultant. Employee of the month...pretty sure!

Meeting Porter

We took a day trip to meet Porter, our new nephew/cousin. As you can see, he is adorable and snugly! Gain a had fun playing with Cooper and Brecken too, of course!

Sledding

Last week, Gianna was so sick with a respiratory virus.  I don't think we've ever kept her home for two consecutive days, but we had to keep her home all week.  By the weekend, she was doing better and her fever was gone.  We decided to go sledding on Sunday, and the Conley's joined us!

Gia preferred her tube to the plastic type of sled.  She has no fear!  Ryan was great about going down the hill after her so that she had a ride back up.  I hauled her back up one time and felt that was enough to put me into labor!

Mommy Milestones

Lately, I feel like I have had several "Mommy Milestones."

1. A couple of weeks ago, I completed the open enrollment paperwork for Gianna to go to Four-Year-Old Kindergarten in Onalaska.  4K is a half-day program Monday through Thursday.  If Gia gets into Onalaska, then she can go to school right from Tricia's house next year.

2. Gianna is in a Parent & Me gymnastics class one day per week.  At some point, she will move up to Level 1 and then progress (hopefully) to Level 2.  Kids can't compete until Level 2.  I had to work a three hour shift at the concession stand today.  Parent & Me, Level 2, three hour shift...yep, I don't think it all adds up.  This must be when the fun begins.

3. This afternoon, Gia went to her first friend birthday party, and she was very excited.  Jadynn celebrated her fifth birthday at the Children's Museum with several of her friends from day care.  It was reported to me that Gianna was most interested in the two girls under two during the coloring and games, but once it was time to run free in the museum, she jumped right into the action, no surprises there!

My "Mommy Milestones" are a little bit sad and exciting at the same time.  All-in-all though, I am just proud to be Gianna's Mom.  She even told me today herself that she is smart!

Chef Gianna

Her mom might not be able to cook, but Gianna can! She made her very own mini pizzas for dinner tonight.
