Children's Museum of La Crosse

Gianna has a membership to the Children's Museum in La Crosse.  We hardly make it over because of time, but yesterday, we went just for an hour, and we loved it!  When asked, Gia said her favorite part was going down all of the slides.  She also hopped right in the driver's seats of the fire truck, boat, and boat house...no surprise!

A Taste of Gia

So, last night, I took Gianna on a walk.  We miraculously came across a mom and pop candy shop, The Sweet Shop, that I had forgotten about.  I just so happened to need a birthday gift for my wonderful secretary, Lanie.  Gianna and I went in, bought Lanie some chocolates and a homemade anise sucker, and we left with a cup of chocolate marshmallow ice cream for Gia.  She sat in the front of the stroller eating away and enjoying every minute of it.  I started hearing her repeating something, so I slowed down to listen.

"I thirsty.  I really, really thirsty."

Miss Gianna May was so deeply enthralled in her gooey, sticky, yummy treat that she just kept eating and announcing her need for a drink while her cup sat right in front of her.  I stopped, pried the ice cream out of her hand, she took a drink (and then the ice cream back), and on our way we went.

Kenosha County Fair

This weekend we took Gianna to her first county fair.  She rode the carousel and the ferris wheel.  Full mommy-mode took affect while Ryan had her on the ferris wheel.  I stood at the bottom strategizing the best ways to save her.  She loved the rides, and there were no hang-ups, phew!

The petting zoo was perfect.  A calf, miniature horse, goats and sheep were roaming around at their leisure.  Bunnies were in cages and could be taken out to play with, and there was a trough of chicks and ducklings that kids could touch, hold, or just observe.  Gia was in awe.

"I have pretty dress on!"

Aunt Lea bought Gia this cute dress. After I put it on her, she told me that she wanted to wear a hat. Good thing it has cooled off a bit!

Teeny Tiny

Gianna and I went to a "Mom and Tot" class at Fox Valley Tumbling, my Aunt Stacy's gym.  She was very good about following the routines of the class, unless of course, she wasn't interested in a specific activity.  Ms. Brenda noticed how curious Gia is right away.

The kids ran up and down the mat, bear crawled, wheelbarrowed, and tumbled.  They completed an obstacle course, played Monkeys on the Bed, jumped on the giant trampoline, and played with the parachute.

Jumping was Gianna's favorite part (on the floor, double mini, trampoline, wherever), and I think I agree because I didn't have to hunch over to help her when she jumped.

Superstar!

Thanks for letting us crash a class!
